THE CRAFT OF KARIGARI

Ashaalia is built around the South Asian art of hand-beading, thoughtfully designed in Melbourne and Dubai, and brought to life by generations of artisanal craftsmanship.

Each piece begins as a flat panel in a specialist Karigari atelier in the Bay of Bengal, where artisans trained in classical Aari and Zardozi technique build the beading into the garment, panel by panel, before the garment is assembled. It moves because it was made to.
