Conceived in mid-weight crepe polyester and lined in silk satin, the Sitara Crop Top receives concentrated Karigari beading at the neckline and bust. Glass stones and seed beads are applied in the atelier panel by panel, with lining support sewn in before beading panels are attached to manage the surface weight at the décolleté. The sweetheart neckline frames the bust without restriction. Approximately 15 hours of hand-beading per piece.
The Sitara motif - star, in Urdu - traces to the Mughal tradition of mapping garment surfaces with metallic and mirrored star placements, each point of light carrying significance in court dress. The Sitara Crop Top concentrates that logic at the neckline: the surface density of the stone work at the bust carries the same architectural intention as the full-jacket silhouette, in a compressed form.
