Conceived in mid-weight crepe polyester and fully lined in breathable silk, the Nargis Boxy Jacket receives approximately 25 hours of Karigari hand-beading at the arms. Glass stones form the narcissus motif in motion rather than fixed in place, applied panel by panel in ASHAALIA's Bay of Bengal atelier - each panel beaded flat before attachment to ensure even tension.
Each jacket is finished with embellished buttons at the cuffs - a detail that extends the beading language to every edge of the garment. An internal left breast pocket is worked into the lining, cut to sit flat without disturbing the surface work.
In classical South Asian poetry, the nargis - narcissus - appears at the border, framing what is most significant. In the Boxy Jacket, the Nargis motif runs along the arms: a botanical border on a contemporary wide silhouette. The deliberate tension between the jacket's relaxed volume and the precision of the stone work is the point.
The boxy cut sits away from the body - worn loose over a slip dress or belted over tailored trousers.
The model is wearing a size AU/UK 8.
