Moonstone White is estimated to be delivered in late August. Onyx Black is available for delivery in 7-14 days from the order date.
Conceived in linen silk (Moonstone White) or Japanese triacetate polyester (Onyx Black) with matching lining, the Lakshmi Dress requires approximately 22 hours of Karigari hand-beading. The motif is a floral cascade built through appliqué - each flower individually beaded in sequins, glass stones, seed beads and embroidery thread, cut from its ground and hand-stitched onto the dress surface by artisans in ASHAALIA's Bay of Bengal atelier, creating a raised, dimensional composition that catches light at every angle.
Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of beauty, prosperity, grace and light - invoked at significant moments, present at celebrations of abundance, and at Diwali, the festival of lights, where the illumination of the world is her domain. The Lakshmi Dress is named in her honour.
The cascading floral composition references Mughal court jewellery and ceremonial sash work, where full-surface bead compositions marked garments as belonging to occasions of weight. Named for the goddess of light, this dress is conceived as a wearable heirloom - and carries particular resonance worn under the lights of Diwali.
The model is wearing a size 8AU, 40IT, 08UK, 04US, 36FR.
