Conceived in mid-weight crepe polyester and lined in silk satin, the Nargis Corset receives approximately 12 hours of Karigari hand-beading at the bodice. Each element is applied by the artisan's hand in ASHAALIA's the Bay of Bengal atelier. The bodice is beaded panel by panel before assembly; the silk satin lining is cut to support the stone weight without pulling at the structured seams. The sweetheart neckline accentuates the décolletage.
Nargis is the Persian and Urdu name for the narcissus flower - in classical South Asian poetry, the symbol of the beloved's eye. The motif entered the Mughal textile tradition as a botanical reference worked into shawls and court garments with extraordinary precision.
